GCMH Welcomes Brent Ascher to Board of Commissioners

Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) is pleased to welcome Brent Ascher to the hospital’s Board of Commissioners.

Ascher, a Grundy Center native who moved back to Grundy Center in 2010, farms full time. He and his wife, Mary, have two sons, Jacob and Nicholas. He appreciates the incredible care the hospital provides and wanted to be part of the hospital’s mission to improve the health of the people and communities it serves.

“The hospital has served my family members well over the years, and I’m excited to give back and help my community at the same time,” says Ascher.

Prior to farming full time, Brent worked in the construction management field. He was a partner in a general contractor firm for seven years and then went on to work at the University of Northern Iowa in several positions, including the head of Design and Construction for the campus. He also worked for an architectural firm for two years.

Outside of farming and serving on the hospital board, Brent and is family are involved at Orchard Hill Church and he enjoys outdoor activities and woodworking.

Brent joins eight other board members from the communities of Conrad, Dike, Eldora, Grundy Center, Reinbeck, Parkersburg and Wellsburg.

Grundy County Memorial Hospital is a county-affiliated hospital located in Grundy Center, affiliated with UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital, Waterloo, and the UnityPoint Health system. The hospital offers a wide variety of outpatient services to area residents, as well as Medical- Surgical and Emergency Departments.
