Our emergency services team has you covered

The GCMH emergency room is ready to handle a wide array of health emergencies. We treat approximately 4,800 people each year for urgent problems such as trouble breathing, severe pain, injuries and chest discomfort that could be a heart attack.

Our staff includes emergency-certified physicians and providers. They are supported by experienced registered nurses. Our nurses have training in trauma as well as pediatric and adult advanced life support. They receive ongoing education to maintain certifications in these specialized areas.

  • We offer shorter wait times. Care begins within minutes of your arrival. On the rare occasions when you might need to wait, our staff will keep you informed and move you to an examination room as quickly as possible.
  • We offer privacy. Our six-bed department includes private treatment bays and modern surroundings.

  • We're a level IV trauma center. If needed, we can stabilize you and facilitate your transfer to an urban facility with a higher level of care.
