Athletic Training
Grundy County Memorial Hospital Therapy Services is pleased to add the position of Athletic Trainer, and introduce Michael Olson, MS. The hospital's Therapy Services department has entered into an agreement with Grundy Center Community Schools to provide athletic training services for all student-athletes.
Michael will be present at sports practices and competitions. Michael has experience at the NCAA division I, II, and III levels. This experience will allow him to provide a high level of care to the student athletes at GCHS. Along with the care he will be able to provide, he will also be able to help update emergency action plans, concussion baseline testing, and many other policies/procedures that ensure the health and safety of the student-athletes.
Michael is a Faribault, Minnesota native, and graduated from Minnesota State University at Mankato with a Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. He served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, working with the football team and men's and women's tennis teams while completing his Master's degree. He has worked as an athletic trainer for Upper Iowa University in Fayette and Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato.
