Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP)

SHIIP is a free, confidential service sponsored by the State of Iowa helping Iowans make informed decisions about Medicare and other health coverage. Our counselors have been trained by the SHIIP office in Des Moines, which is under the direction of the State Insurance Division. Some of the areas they are trained to answer questions include Part A or Part B Medicare, supplemental insurance, Medicare Advantage (Part C), Part D prescription drug coverage, Long Term Care Insurance. They are not able to endorse one plan or another. 

SHIIP counselors serve clients throughout the year, as well as during the annual open enrollment period October 15 - December 7. You may schedule a meeting with a counselor by calling (319) 824-5081 or (888)824-5081. The Grundy County SHIIP program is sponsored by and located at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital.
